Supporting Charities & Community Initiatives

Little Village Baby Bank

Little Village has become one of the largest ‘baby banks’ in the UK since launching in 2016 – supporting struggling families with clothes, toys and equipment for babies and children up to the age of five. It has supported over 11,000 children across London since its launch. BYM Capital supports this incredible organisation in a number of ways, most significantly by gifting them spaces for their operations; initially we provided a warehouse in Watford and now have added a retail space at Treaty Centre in Hounslow.

Message from Sophie Livingstone MBE, CEO Little Village

“We are delighted to have the support of BYM Capital as, sadly, the need for our work isn’t going away. Child poverty is increasing for the first time in a generation, and it is deepening in London, a city where wealth sits cheek by jowl with deprivation. Our village needs to increase to meet this need, and alongside it we want to shout about the need for a strong safety net for families with young children, putting the voices and experiences of families at the forefront of our storytelling.

Although we call ourselves a ‘baby bank’, we provide so much more than just high-quality kit to families – at the core of what we do is a desire to build connections across communities, and to create opportunities for people to thrive. We’ve always argued that our work should not only serve to support families who are struggling, but should also act as a force for change when it comes to the existence of child poverty. We’re committed to playing our part in ending child poverty and we believe that every child deserves the best possible start in life.
